Intro
of QXCI into mainstream |
|
In establishing Integrative approaches within mainstream medicine there are a
lot of considerations when developing clinics that will have reimbursable
charge codes and acceptable modalities that will meet the criteria of the
Western based mind set.
We
have been establishing Integrative multidisciplinary approaches within
Mainstream at St Johns Regional Hospital, (in Springfield, Missouri), for the
past 7 years, introducing non-invasive alternative approaches with cost
effective and significant outcomes for reducing Pain, anxiety, depression,
insomnia and muscle tension for a variety of conditions.
Within the last year, I was introduced to the QXCI and saw how it could blend
with our Integrative approaches. We have been using it at St John’s Regional
Health Center for the past 1 ½ years, promoting it as Stress Management for
conditions that we are treating within the clinic, (Fibromyalgia, Headaches,
Chronic Pain, Anxiety disorders, and Smoking Cessation). Keeping affront on
cutting technologies and treatments that are effective is paramount in
continuing to build and develop programs that are acceptable in the mainstream
system. Having trainings available is also important, therefore I have pursued
becoming a teacher for Quantum Alliance in order to hold future trainings here
at the hospital. Nirvana Zirabi Smith has been gracious to extend her time to
provide 2 trainings at our hospital and both have been very well attended. To me
it is exciting to have this technology based healing system accepted as part of
our program. I have had the advantage of having very open minded progressive
thinking advocates who have made the introduction of these services possible. It
is critical to establish these services under the auspice of Medical Directors
that are supportive of these services as well as supportive Administrators.
For
health care providers who have focused on the benefits of alternative therapies,
it is a time of challenge, requiring new paradigms, new collaborations, and the
use of therapies that have not been included in conventional curricula. Today's
patients expect their doctors and nurses to be open-minded and knowledgeable
about potential applications of alternative medicine; if not, these patients
tend to seek care elsewhere.
In
light of the above, alternative medicine must now be re-examined. As interest in
this field continues to grow in these alternative fields, there is a need and
responsibility of the medical profession and involved disciplines to study the
outcomes and assess the potential benefits, efficacy, safety and cost
effectiveness. The increasing number of scientific research studies will enhance
the credibility of these therapies as they blend into the mainstream medical
model of healthcare. Each discipline will be reviewed. Perhaps there will be a
return to the ways and wisdom of the old family doctor - a physician who
again is a teacher, who finds time to talk to the patient, and who integrates
the best of those scientifically supported methods of unconventional therapy
into everyday modern medical practice. My Vision is for Integrative
Medicine to transform Traditional Mainstream into a more Wholistic model for
Health and Healing. The QXCI will assist with the change of this paradigm for
healing.
